The Surrey Jazz Nights Junior series provides youth musicians (ages 13-18) with valuable performance experiences in a supportive environment. This is a great opportunity for young musicians looking to gain confidence with performing or seasoned players wanting a space to share their music with others.
Groups can be an be anywhere from a duo to a quintet (two to five musicians), and from any style/genre of music. Including but not limited to jazz, classical, rock, folk, etc.

Musician Spotlight Series
This series is meant for emerging and established artists ages 18+. Groups can be anywhere between a trio to a quintet (3-5 musicians), and from any style of music, including but not limited to jazz, classical, rock, folk, etc.
This is a paid performance opportunity, and Surrey Jazz Nights will book groups based on available funding.

Duets at Surrey Jazz Nights
This series is meant for emerging artists between the ages of 16-30. Duos can be any genre/style of music. Including but not limited to jazz, classical, rock, folk, etc.
This is a paid performance opportunity and Surrey Jazz Nights will book groups based on funding and available slots.

Open Mics
Surrey Libraries partners with Surrey Jazz Nights to present an annual Teen Open Mic. The event is open to teens ages 13-18 and provides a safe and fun performance space for all experience levels, styles, and genres.
Our next Teen Open Mic takes place on July 15th, 2026, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, at the Surrey Libraries City Centre Branch.
Jam Sessions
Surrey Jazz Nights hosts jam sessions every second month at the Surrey Nature Centre. Our jam sessions are open to youth, and musicians of all ages. We aim to provide a safe and supportive space for musicians of all experience levels to meet, connect, and celebrate the joy of music.
Each jam session is hosted by a local professional musician from Surrey. We provide jam books, amplifiers, and rhythm section instruments.
